The poop on DiCaprio |
BY BILL ZWECKER STAFF COLUMNIST Chicago Sun-Times A member of the Italian paparazzi is creating a stink over a run-in with Leonardo DiCaprio that has some members of the media--myself included--cheering. Earlier this month on the Rome set of director Martin Scorsese's "Gangs of New York," the actor (and co-star Cameron Diaz) became furious when the flash from celebrity photographer Mauro Sostini's camera caused a horse pulling a carriage to spook--toppling the carriage and injuring three female extras on the film. Instinctively, an enraged DiCaprio grabbed a coffee mug, scooped up some horse manure and hurled it at Sostini. According to my source on the set, "Leo's aim was perfect," and rated cheers from his co-workers. Later, both DiCaprio and Diaz visited the hospital where the two women and 12-year-old girl were rushed following the incident. Now, of course, Sostini is taking advantage of DiCaprio's star status and suing the actor, claiming his camera was ruined and he was "shocked." Poor baby. |
